Our latest high rise multi-family design for fun and a little green learning and analysis. Things we are looking into with this form generation study: Solar Characteristics, UV Filtering and Control, Rainwater Harvesting, Irrigation and Recycling, Hydroponic Panels, Atmospheric Manipulation, blah blah bla... Hope you all like the video, more to come as we rock and roll on this little gem over the next year...
I'll be researching this more in the future but on first glance this software looks like it has huge potential. Take a look at this Video...
Fuzor was created for the architecture and Building Information Modeling (BIM) industry, powered by our award-winning, patent-pending multi-core technology. Fuzor creates a live link with Autodesk Revit to produce high quality real-time rendering of architectural projects instantly and effortlessly. Live Link is the connection Fuzor and Revit create between each other. Once this connection is created, Fuzor and Revit will be able to communicate, passing information back and forth. The live link is what allows Fuzor to instantly update and reflect the modifications done in a Revit file. Fuzor creates a perfect visual platform to communicate BIM data and design effectively.
Over 100 New improvements: Lumion 4.5 Pro includes 24 new character models along with new shadow effects that now include an option for three quality levels. This allows you to create ultra sharp shadow edges up to a level where you can see the individual leaves of a tree.
Now Pro users can load their .ls4 file into an existing scene. After selecting a file a new dialog let you choose to import light, models, imports or any combination of them. My favorite new feature is that lights now have an extra setting which makes them turn on automatically at night and can even be randomized so they do not turn on all at once. All you have to do is animate the sun position to create a nice effect for night scenes when this new feature is active. Now glossy surfaces are drawn with improved quality by removing errors and improving the filtering of the reflections. You can even create artistic images by enlarging the moon. In Lumion 4.5 you can directly control the size of the moon with a movie or photo effect.

When dealing with work-sharing files in Revit 2015 if you sign in to Autodesk 360, your user name will be changed by the default. The only exception is: Revit will NOT change the user name if you are currently in a work-sharing file (local or central). Once you have logged into Autodesk 360 you will not be able to open an old local file without with your old user name because the central file will see you as a different user. If you follow my practice of creating a new local file directly from the central every day you should not have any issues with this scenario. If you have a company standard for you user names; guess what you are out of luck if you want to use Autodesk 360. This little debacle is also going to make it a bit difficult for users to figure out who is in the central file without everyone sharing and listing their user names. (Thank you again Autodesk for making me do more work, I love making spreadsheets and wasting paper…)
AMD has revealed the Radeon R9 295X2, the flagship card in its latest range of gamer-centric GPUs. The AMD Radeon™ R9 295X2 graphics card is the world’s fastest, period. The new card features a powerful dual-GPU setup that utilizes factory-fitted liquid cooling, a full 8GB memory and more than 11.5 teraflops of computing power. The GPU is aimed to compete with NVIDIA's rival Titan cards but with these stats it should be the undisputed graphics champion.
The company claims that the card can handle ultra game settings at full 4K resolution, or can be pushed even further, simultaneously running five high-definition displays for a total resolution featuring an additional two million pixels over 4K. Unlike many current GPUs, the flagship R9 card doesn't feature an HDMI port, but instead opts for a single dual-link DVI and four mini DisplayPorts.
The Kingsgate block of affordable housing in Chelsea by Horden Cherry Lee was completed in January of this year and, using mainly CLT, is the first-ever building to attain PEFC (forestry) certification. The timber for Kingsgate has all been PEFC-certified (Programme for the Enforcement of Certification), making this the first building in the UK, and possibly the world, with this type of recognition.
The building’s most notable energy-saving feature is its golden solar shutters. These vertical elements help shade the window openings, but the golden tone of the PV cells were designed to match the nearby brick of older buildings, a nice touch. Architect Richard Horden also calculates that the whole building consumes around 250 kWh per day of energy, the same as driving a Smart car for an entire day. For each unit, the energy required is only around 5.8 kWh per day, the equivalent of driving a Smart car around for about half an hour.
